Area 5
Southeast of Saint-Aulaye
east of D38
Notes:
This became our favourite area. There are lots of trails. They are hard-packed and infrequently muddy. They come together to form a large network of trails. The roads have very low traffic volumes and the cars we did encounter were generously aware of the dogs and slowed, some to a stop, to not endanger them at all.
This is the area where we saw the deer parcels, twice, at note point 8.
- Park at the entrance to the trail to the north, with access to the trail going east.
- Good park with access to the north area of the forest.
- Park just outside La Côté with access to the northern area. We only explored this area once.
- Good park with access to the roads and trails of the eastern section.
- Good park with access to the trails of the middle area of the eastern section.
- Good park with Access to the northern section of the forest.
- Keep Gypi on the lead until you are well into the forest as she will run into the farm buildings at the trailhead.
- This is where we saw the parcel of deer twice.
- The trail road crosses D38, where we saw two cars. Recommend keeping the dogs close as you approach the crossing. There are lots of forest trails we did not explore in the area south and west of D38.
